Starting a new career is challenging enough without additional financial burdens. That's why at Samaritan, we offer paid training to become a CNA. It only takes six weeks, and when you pass the state exam at the end of it, you'll have a job waiting for you. And because we want our employees to get the most out of their careers, we offer a number of great benefits, such as paid time off and tuition reimbursement to help you advance your career.

  • How long is the training period?
    • One week of orientation
    • Six weeks of training in classroom, labs and clinicals
  • What are the hours of the training program?
    • The first week of orientation is Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
    • The six weeks of training is Monday through Friday, 6 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
  • I just applied. What can i expect to happen next?
    • Our CNA recruiter will review your application
    • After class instructors review it, they will call you to set up an interview
    • If you are accepted into the class, we will conduct a background check, provide a health assessment and sign you up for orientation as soon as possible
    • A new class begins every four weeks
  • Will I become a Samaritan employee?

    Yes. If you are accepted into the CNA training program, pass a background check and health assessment and uphold the Samaritan values, you will become a paid employee of Samaritan while you are training. Once you successfully complete the training and pass the New York State Certification exam, you will be offered a position at Samaritan.

  • How much will I make during the training?
    • $10.40/hour while in training
    • $11.54/hour after becoming a CNA (plus additional compensation if you work holidays, overtime, evening/night shifts, etc.)
  • How much paid time off (PTO) will I get each year?

    24 days

  • What other benefits will I have?
